FAQ 2017-07-14T11:29:14+00:00
How would you go about using this product for a room with a 3-gang switch? 2017-07-14T14:05:09+00:00

Assuming by 3 gang you mean 3 x separate switching circuits then each would need its own Quickwire switch and load. So just as shown on the video but, 3 instances.

Can the conductors be released from the push fit connector? 2017-07-14T14:02:10+00:00

Are there any test points for a meter? 2017-07-14T13:35:15+00:00

Not as such, but we recommend disconnecting the original Twin & Earth cable from say the ‘load’ outlet and inserting a pre-prepared short piece of T & E that has your test probes connected. Assuming there isn’t a problem then remove the test and reinsert the original cable. It takes no time at all to make these disconnections/reconnections because of the unique Quickwire design – we are talking less than 10 seconds total.

Unfortunately not at the moment, but we are developing one in the near future because we recognize the need!

Is Quickwire 17th edition compliant? Is there built in strain relief to stop wires getting pulled out? 2017-07-14T13:30:05+00:00

The 17th edition is a code of practice for installers rather than manufactures, but having said that we obviously designed Quickwire so that installers can comply using our product. Our Quickwire junction boxes have completed testing to BS EN 60670-22 in conjunction with BS EN 60670-1:2005 + A1:2013 (Boxes and enclosures for electrical accessories for household and similar fixed electrical installations).

It is currently in testing for BS 5733 specifically for ‘maintenance-free accessories’. This is a punishing test that unfortunately takes 15 weeks. Once we have this we can then say the product does not require maintenance and therefore can be installed anywhere even if there is no access.
